The story behind Edge Tape

The journey of creating Paddlesshop premium edge tape started with a simple yet inspiring conversation with our loyal and endlessly enthusiastic friend, Ken(from Canada)—who, by the way, proudly refers to himself as a “banana.”

One day, Ken came to me and said, “Walter, I’m looking for edge tape that’s adaptable and durable. Do you have any? I bought some from Aliexpress, and while it’s good, there’s room for improvement. Oh, and I’ve also been using electrical tape for extra protection.”

His request sparked something in us. If Ken was combining products to protect his paddle’s edge, how many others might be doing the same? That’s when we realized this was a challenge worth solving.

From there, our team dove into creating a solution. We tested materials, analyzed existing edge guard tape products, and spent countless hours refining the design.
